David Fajolles

David Fajolles has been working for several years on the impact of digital technologies on cultural practices, in his previous positions at the French Ministry of Culture and Communication (advisor to the Minister, Head of the Department of Studies and Foresight) and as SG of the French National Commission for UNESCO where he advocated for a stronger European cooperation in cultural policies and economic strategies for creative industries. He also previously worked for two Ministers of European Affairs and at the EU Institute for Security Studies, as well as in cultural diplomacy in Latin America and in West Africa. Alumnus of ENS (École normale supérieure, Paris, in philosophy) and Princeton University (Procter Fellowship), graduated in history from Sorbonne (Paris-I) and in social anthropology from EHESS, former fellow of the Institute of Higher Education for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IHEIE, MINES ParisTech / PSL), David Fajolles also teaches Cultural Heritage & International Relations, Comparative Cultural Policies and Tech Foresight applied to the industrialisation of cultural contents at the Sciences Po Paris’ School of Public Affairs. Since February 2021, he chairs the Fondation Robert de Sorbon.
